Vanilla Cinnamon Baked Apples

To welcome in the Autumn season, we were invited to dinner at a friend's house. I wanted to make something for dessert that was sweet and delicious and that involved... APPLES! You know, Apples, Autumn, you get it? Anyways...

I've made baked apples before, but I wanted to do something a little different to add some pizzazz. (go figure "pizzazz" was totally in my computer spell-check dictionary. Awesome.)

So I took my happy baby and plopped her in the kitchen singing, "I like to eat Oooples and Banoonoos!" << That part is her favorite.

I preheated the oven at 350 F. & took 6 granny smith apples and chopped them up into small bites.

While doing this, I took one stick of butter. (Just call me Paula Dean Jr.) I know that's a lot of butter! Plus 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and melted it in the microwave.

Then I gave E a spoon and took this picture because it looked really cute and she was really excited. :)

Then I poured the butter and vanilla into the bowl of apples and mixed. Now this is where it gets complicated because I'm not a a person who measures. I never measure. I kind of just guess, but it usually turns out delicious.

I then sprinkled cinammon (about 1 Tablespoon & 1Teaspoon) and Brown sugar (2 actual table spoons from your silverware drawer.)

I mixed and poured into a greased baking dish. When you pour, try and put some apples in first, then some of the butter mixture, then apples, then mixture, yadda, yadda... (Does not matter what kind of dish) I topped off with a little bit more cinnamon and popped it in the oven for about an hour if you like them really
soft like I do. 40 minutes for a little crunchier taste.

Then I had to try and resist to eat the whole dish before we left.
